How To Put On A Harness 🤯

How To Put On A Harness 🤯

If you've just received your new Cheeky Boy Harness and aren't quite sure where to start, don't worry. Putting on a harness is much easier than it looks once you know the basics.

Step 1

Lay The Harness Flat

Start by laying your harness flat on a bed, table, or other clean surface.

Position it so that the Cheeky Boy brand label is facing you, located on the back right-hand side of the harness. This will help you identify the correct orientation before putting it on.

Take a moment to untangle any straps and ensure everything is lying flat.

Additional Step For Body Harnesses

If you've purchased a full body harness with leg straps, we recommen

d attaching the leg sections to the centre rings before putting on the chest section.

While it is possible to clip the leg straps on afterwards, most people find it much easier to connect them first. Unless you're particularly flexible and coordinated, or have someone available to help, attaching the leg straps before putting the harness on will save a lot of awkward bending and reaching.

Once the leg straps are connected, put the harness on following the steps below. Then simply step into the leg loops one leg at a time and pull the harness u

p into position before making any final adjustments.

Step 2

Locate The Arm Holes

With the harness laid out correctly, locate the two arm holes.

Place one hand through each arm hole, just as you would when putting on a vest.

Step 3

Put Your Head Through The Centre Opening

With your arms through the arm holes, lift the harness up and guide your head through the centre opening.

If your harness includes a chest strap, make sure this strap passes underneath your head and sits comfortably across your upper chest.

Step 4

Adjust The Harness Into Position

Once the harness is on, take a few moments to pull the elastic into its correct position.

It is completely normal for some of the straps to twist slightly while putting the harness on. Check that all straps are lying flat against your body and untwist any sections as needed.

If your harness has a centre ring on the back, reach behind and gently pull it down so that it sits comfortably between your shoulder blades.

If your harness has rings beneath the armpits, give these a gentle pull downwards and slightly towards your back. This helps the harness settle into its intended position and often improves both comfort and appearance.

For body harnesses, adjust the leg straps so they sit comfortably and evenly. The elastic should sit flat against your body without twisting.

Step 5

Check The Final Fit

Once everything is sitting correctly, check that the straps are lying flat and evenly on both sides of your body.

The rings should appear centred and symmetrical, and the harness should feel secure without restricting movement. Because the harness is made from elastic, a little adjustment after putting it on is completely normal and will help you achieve the best fit and look.

After a few wears, putting on and adjusting your harness will become second nature.

Need Help?

If you're still unsure whether you're wearing your harness correctly, don't worry.

The product photos on our website are a great reference and can help you check that your harness is sitting correctly and that all straps are positioned as intended.

If you're ever stuck, you're always welcome to send us a message. We're happy to help and can often identify any fitting or adjustment issues from a quick photo.

Most importantly, don't panic if it doesn't look perfect straight away. In most cases, the harness simply needs a few small adjustments to untwist the straps and pull the rings into their correct position.

Enjoy your new Cheeky Boy Harness and wear it with confidence.
